The apartment is located on the third floor of a residential building constructed in the late 1960s to early 1970s, within the framework of the “antiparochi” system, a characteristic development model of that period in Athens. The building is of particular interest as it reflects the transition from the modernism of the 1950s–60s to the emerging morphological elements of the following decade. In the entrance and stairwell, one can trace references to postmodern tendencies, while at the same time the materials of modernist apartment buildings—wood, marble, and terrazzo—are preserved.
The apartment itself is defined by authentic features of the era: black-and-white terrazzo flooring, Parnitha marble at the entrance, oak parquet, and wooden closets with their characteristic recessed panels. The kitchen retains its original marble countertop, while interventions were limited to the addition of tiles in the kitchen and hallway, aiming to unify the functional spaces. The renovation sought to highlight the existing materials and bring them into dialogue with the needs of contemporary living.
The internal layout consists of two bedrooms: one located at the rear, western part of the apartment and the other at the eastern side. The eastern section also houses the living room, which is directly connected to the entrance hall, functioning as its natural extension. A corridor unifies the bedrooms with the kitchen, bathroom, and storage space. The interventions were carried out with respect to the original features and the materials of the period.
In 2025, a full renovation of the apartment was carried out. The works included new electrical installations, complete replacement of plumbing, plastering and surface finishing throughout all spaces, as well as the installation of new window and door frames, both in wood and aluminum.
