news: Residence in Kastri with
Semi-Outdoor Areas and Skylight

Instagram

This three-level private residence in Kastri is developed through clean geometric lines, with a linear organization of volumes and cross-ventilated spatial arrangements. The architectural program includes two living rooms and two kitchens on the ground and first floors, three bedrooms with dedicated bathrooms, and a fully equipped basement for auxiliary uses and staff accommodation. The three levels are connected through an interior staircase and a vertically developed light shaft that acts as a spatial and functional core.

Each floor includes a semi-outdoor and an open courtyard area, forming transitional zones between interior and exterior, while contributing to passive shading, natural ventilation, and visual depth. The top floor features a perforated light well - the compositional and environmental centerpiece of the design. Its metallic louver system allows for controlled daylight penetration and thermal balance, shaping the building into a bright, open structure aligned with its east and south orientation. The surrounding landscape is linearly arranged, with water features, low planting, and clean visual axes that extend toward the natural horizon.
